Free family tree software, Personal Ancestral File, is available from the web site of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon).   The church does extensive work in genealogy, because of its religious beliefs regarding its living members' ability to save ancestors who passed away without benefit of the church's redemption during their lifetimes.   This work has benefitted people of all religious beliefs who are searching for their own roots, because the church shares its records with and offers many forms of free genealogical assistance to people outside its membership.   When you have the software downloaded, contact Blake Cathey, bcathey@flash.net, and he will send you his family tree file to act as a jump-start for your own.
